Kanye West took his sweet time making an announcement about his big - I mean really big - bad judgement and poor form at the Bonaroo Festival. He came out today with a rant against his fans.

His ego is really out of place at a Woodstock type of gathering like Bonaroo, and I doubt he’ll be allowed back there any time soon. His prima donna attitude about his stage set and show turned out to be his own downfall. He wanted the show to be seen in the dark of night so all his expensive special effects wouldn’t be wasted on a twilight crowd. So they moved his show back to follow the evening’s true headliner act. The problem was that the headliner act was so well received that they played a longer set than scheduled. Then there was a huge delay in breaking down their set and putting up Kanye’s. Then, for inexplicable reasons other than perhaps ego, Kanyes keep the crowd waiting an extra hour longer before he graced the stage. At this point,  more than 7 hours later than the announced show time, his fans were sick of waiting. And Kanye  had plenty of opportunity to  explain or apologize, but he did neither. And the crowd rightfully boo’d.

Tonight the Detroit Red wings won their 4th Stanley Cup playoff in the last 11 years and their 11th overall by beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2. I am sorry to see Detroit win I really do not like them or their coach, Mike Babcock is one of those coaches that if he is your coach you love him and hate him when he is the opposing coach. Now the off season begins and we are one day closer to dropping the puck for next year.

This Sunday was filled with racing, much of it I did watch but it was more than I could stand. I am not a major race fan I catch a few races when there is nothing else on TV. I try to watch a few races each year Daytona, Indy and the Talladega races these are exciting even to the casual fan. I know  a few of the local drivers from my days at the radio station, I produced a racing show every week for a couple of years.

As a small child we attended the National Finals Rodeo every year, when it was in Oklahoma City, we had a box that we used for all ten nights of the rodeo. The box that we had was straight across from the bucking chutes. The action during the riding events was fantastic. Watching those huge bulls dancing around trying to throw off the riders is quite the show.

I really enjoy the riding events especially the bulls, the other events are really enjoyable too, but I really like the riding events the best, since that is what I did most when I was growing up. I rode a few bulls in rodeos and tried a bit of calf roping I was not skilled enough to ever win but it was a lot of fun.

I have not attended this fine rodeo since it moved to Las Vegas from Oklahoma City. We decided to get tickets this year and make a family vacation out of the trip. I bought my National Finals Rodeo tickets today and I am ready to go now! The trip will be a lot of fun and I am sure the wife and kids will like the rodeo also.
