Not only has the price of gas gone out of the roof the price of items we buy at the grocery stores is rising too. I bought a package of coffee yesterday and it has went up 2 dollars in the last couple of weeks. I can see no end to the rise in prices of gas and groceries, I just hope the companies that employee people see that they will need to pay their employees more than what they are getting now. The simple cost of driving to work is making some people stay home because they can not afford to drive to work.

Just heard the announcement that Nashville is getting a new retail store, They are bringing Trader Joe’s to Green Hills and I could not be happier. Whenever we go back to Virgina to visit family we go to the Trader Joe’s there and stock up so I will be going to the store here and spending my hard earned money as soon as they get it built, I will be the first one in the front door on opening day.

One of the things I love the most about spring time is that we use our grill more, we use it all year around but spring and summer get the most use. We have discovered a great cut of meat to throw on the grill, the flat iron steak is great put it in a good marinade for about 20 minutes and throw it on the grill for about 5 minutes on each side if like us you like a medium rare steak. We also have cooked the steak and made fajitas out of it very tasty indeed.

This year for mothers day we have decided to give both of our mothers a fine chocolate gift basket that is better than what is sold in the local stores. When searching for Chocolate Gifts there are many so sites to choose from. The very best site we found to select our gifts from was Gertrude Hawk Chocolates they have the best selection and very competitive prices. What I liked the best was that you can create your own gift basket tailored to the likes of the recipient. These high quality treats are made from the freshest ingredients found and made with attention to details that is not found in retail stores that sell chocolate once or twice a year.

Our garden is very small only a few pepper plants and two huge tomato plants that we have already gotten a half dozen nice red tomatoes off of. Every year when I was little my grandparents planted a huge garden and almost every evening was spent pulling weeds, picking vegetables or putting water on the garden. Not a bad way to grow up learning the things you need to know to have a good life.
