On our trip to Oklahoma we noticed one huge bank of wind turbines turning in the Oklahoma wind. I have come to believe that wind power is the energy of the future, T Boone Pickins has the right idea about power and I hope the Presidential candidates get behind some of his ideas no matter who wins this power could help bail this country out of its power shortage and not harm the environment in the process. I am thinking of getting a small wind turbine to help power our home here in Tennessee.
When ever we speak about global warming and clean air we now have a great list of companies to point at that are doing most of the damage to the earth and our air in America. Thanks to the great folks over at The Political Economy Research Institute we all have a list of the top 100 air polluters in the United States. Now I know some of these companies make great things but everyone has to ask themselves this question, do we want these products or clean air?
Do you really care if anyone one of these corporations families do not eat steak this year? It is not like if every one of these companies stopped doing business there families would suffer much, every CEO and there family would be just fine with all there Millions if not Billions of dollars already made, but instead they are killing us all by killing the environment and the very air we breathe.
Take a look at the list and do your part to shut down these polluters in America by boycotting there products and telling your friends to do the same, and by writing your representatives and letting them know to not allow these companies to operate in the United States of America because they are poisoning us and our children.
Stopped by a buddy’s office for a little meeting and took him up on the offer of coffee. Obviously not expecting Starbuck’s from their office kitchenette. But it was a great cup of coffee and I think the coffeemaker they have – top shelf, as expected – had a lot to do with how good the coffee tasted.
Get this, they have a brewer that makes one cup at a time. The brewer is by Keurig. I wrote it down on a post it note. Found it later online. Bookmarked.
The actual coffee comes in little single serving cups called K-cups. You pick the flavor of coffee from their “flavor tree” – the secretaries obviously had something to do with getting the cute little flavor tree display – and drop the cup into the holder, push a “brew” button and one minute later you have your fresh hot cup of most excellent coffee. The K-cups are by Green Mountain coffee – they are fair trade, green, good for the earth, roasted in Vermont. Not sure why they chose Vermont to brew the coffee. Vermont?
This brewing system is high on the wish list. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the Keurig system and the K-cups.
Two great green cars I have my eye on are Tesla electric sports car and Fiskers Karma which both are green cars and look very cool. Tesla in my opinion has the better technology of the two because it relises totally on battery power and no gasoline what so ever, where as Karma relies on as after 50 miles but the idea behind Fiskers Karma is that most people do not drive more than 50 miles a day so it will never use any much gas.
If I had a ride like the Karma it would be hard not to want to drive it all day to be honest with you which is why i like the Tesla car better because i could drive all day and not pollute the environment one bit. let me know what you think which car is better and why in the comments.
