Race day

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

This Sunday was filled with racing, much of it I did watch but it was more than I could stand. I am not a major race fan I catch a few races when there is nothing else on TV. I try to watch a few races each year Daytona, Indy and the Talladega races these are exciting even to the casual fan. I know  a few of the local drivers from my days at the radio station, I produced a racing show every week for a couple of years.

New knife

Monday, May 5th, 2008

With the 15th anniversary of Desert Storm approaching I have decided to give myself a present, US NAVY DESERT STORM 15TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE FIGHTING KNIFE made by Ka-Bar, this knife is a wonderful reproduction of the original that I carried in Iraq. I can not wait to get my hands on this great knife. Ka-Bar Knives are the best quality you can buy and Brigade Quartermasters is the leading retailer of the great Ka_Bar knives. The selection on this site is classic and priced very competitive in all classes of knives. I love the feel of these knives and use them when I go hunting and just around the yard.

Coffee Freak

Friday, April 4th, 2008

My first cup of coffee was served by a waitress at I-Hop when I was 16 years old. On a date, no where else to go after the food was gone, we decided to order coffee and just stay in the booth for an hour or so. I loaded it up with sugar and creamer and sipped it extremely slow, so I managed to get that nasty bitter drew down to the last drop.

Went to I-Hop last weekend and had a cup of coffee. This time I left if black and I drank the entire carafe. It brought to mind my first cup of coffee and how much I’ve changed and how much my coffee has changed.

My coffee of preference is most definitely Starbucks, but I hardly ever order it black. My favorite at Starbucks is a tall caramel machiatto with an extra shot of Espresso. I can’t wait for Starbucks to let me set up my favorite orders online like I did with Papa John’s pizza and then text the order in ahead of time. That would rock and roll!

April Fool’s

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

My father had a great sense of humor - always telling jokes, playing pranks and good for a funny story for whatever the occasion may be.

Of course, he was in the Lion’s Club Minstrel Show for many years and we grew up around clowns and performers. We thought having band rehearsals in the living room was a normal thing.

We’ve seen everything from the  flower boutonniere that squirts water in your face to exploding cigarettes to the whoopie cushion.

This year the significance of April Fool’s Day seemed to slip by everyone - there were no pranks at home or at the office. I kinda missed it.
