With a lot of my wifes family in Southern Virgina we try to take a weeks vacation there every year. This year we will be staying at a very nice waterfront community.

We love the area and the waterfront community at the Coves is just what the doctor ordered for the family this year. The majestic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is one of my favorite locations to take the family and spend some quality time.

Today we had our yearly pest check and found that we have termites in the basement. The pest guy found termite wings and I did not know any thing about termites wings and got to looking and I am infected. With termites that is. Every year our men’s softball team has a fund raiser to help make money to pay our expenses that we incur in going to softball tournaments. What we have decided to do this year is to sell custom car magnets to raise money.

One of the things I love the most about spring time is that we use our grill more, we use it all year around but spring and summer get the most use. We have discovered a great cut of meat to throw on the grill, the flat iron steak is great put it in a good marinade for about 20 minutes and throw it on the grill for about 5 minutes on each side if like us you like a medium rare steak. We also have cooked the steak and made fajitas out of it very tasty indeed.

Another school year is fast approaching the end, and kids everywhere are preparing to have fun this summer, my grandson David is counting the days and he is only in kindergarten I ask him last night how many days left in this school year and he blurted out 13 days. He is so ready to go swimming and fishing this summer he can barely contain himself, he just trembles with the thought of playing in the water this summer. It is a good thing to be a child and enjoy the simple things.
